I figured the ODB connector had gotten loose due to expansion/contraction on these hot days and was planning to just order a new ODB cable for the unit. Disconnected the SGii and everything happy again. The last three times the car has been sitting in sun on 90+ degree F days so was hot inside. However, this time they went on again after 5-10 seconds of ON. Again reseated the OBD and "rebooted" the car. Stopped the car, shut off, reseated the OBD connector and all was well again.Ībout a week ago, I started up the car and hadn't started moving yet when the ABS and brake and skid lights went on. Now, some years later I had a situation that after I went around a sharp turn onto a side street, the ABS and brake lights came on and I lost regenerative braking - only had friction braking. I pulled into a local parking lot and pushed the OBD connector back in (it had worked loose). I was driving down a highway one time when the lights on the dash came on all over the place, and the car went into "Limp" mode. So while I think their conclusion is complete BS, I can't argue the fact that unplugging the unit apparently cleared the fault. Their advice was to unplug the unit and never use it again! LOL. I was 30 miles from the shop, but after determining that no engine faults existed, I continued on.Īt the dealer, their finding was "network error codes": Phantom Error Codes were set by customers use of aftermarket Scan Gauge unit hooked up to Data Link connector. Maybe it has something to do with the HFC and CBE I have.After starting up this afternoon, the following happened to me: Check PCS System (MFD), PCS idiot light blinking, ABS indicators on, the triangle and anti skid/brake assist light on. Not sure why the car would run so lean with the stock intake. I did not have the code to measure the A/F ratio with the R2Cs, so not sure what it was before, but only WOT I measure now 17.5-18.1 A/F ratio, which scares me a little. ![]() The main difference is that the intake temps while stopped, do not climb as fast with the stock intakes - they also fall faster with the stock set-up. The intake temps with the R2Cs installed while cruising at highway speeds were about 6-8 above ambient - same results with the stock intakes. In all honesty - I have not noticed much of a difference, if any. I know some folks wanted me to throw the R2Cs back on after I dyno with the base intakes, but not sure if i can make that all happen. ![]() After you get the fault codes there is another tool called a fault code analyzer that lets you input all of your specific codes. I might also order the Cobb post MAF hose as well - not sure yet. You fill in the SPN and FMI numbers that ScanGauge D gives you and it returns the Cummins fault code plus an explanation of what the code is about. Also I will be doing another dyno run in the next few weeks with the stock intake and maybe I'll do it also with the HKS Super Hybrid drop-ins I ordered. The reason I took them out and put the stock back in is that I wanted to see the difference in air intake temps. ![]()
